We’re making good progress toward our goal to raise $15,000 in matching individual
membership gifts this year, thanks to a generous challenge grant from the Lucky 7
Foundation.
As we go to press, we have raised more than $6,880 in matches! Thank you to everyone
who has renewed their membership this summer! You are awesome! There are three
matching gift opportunities with this year’s Challenge Grant.
- Members who double their membership level from last year will be eligible for a matching gift, dollar for dollar. For example, if your membership level was $50 last year and you increase your membership level to $100 this year, your entire $100 membership will be matched for a total gift of $200!
- If you have not renewed your SPF membership for several years, now is a great time to do so because your gift will be matched 100 percent!
- And, new membership gifts this year will have their membership gift fully matched. This is a great way to honor a family member, friend or colleague and help grow our base of supporters.
When you support Skagitonians to Preserve Farmland and our mission to ensure the
continued viability of Skagit County agriculture and its required infrastructure, you are not
only helping to keep intact one of the last fully functional agricultural valleys in Puget
Sound; you are also helping to protect the greatest watershed in Puget Sound!
Skagit farmland is one of the reasons why the Skagit Watershed continues to be the most
important salmon-producing river left in Puget Sound. It’s one of the reasons why the Skagit
Delta is one of the most important waterfowl wintering areas in the Northern Pacific Flyway.
It’s one of the reasons why the Skagit Delta is home to the largest and most diverse
concentrations of wintering raptors in North America. And it’s one of the reasons why the
Skagit Delta supports 70 percent of Puget Sound shorebirds during migration.
Your membership support creates a strong and respected voice for the preservation of
agriculture and all the benefits that sustainable farming provides to Skagit Valley and Puget
Sound.
If you have not yet renewed your support for SPF, I encourage you to do so today. We are
eager to complete our match before the end of the year, and with your support we’ll
make it! If you have any questions about the challenge grant, please give us a call at (360)
336-3974.
It is an honor to work on behalf of each and every one of you to protect Skagit agriculture.
With your continued support and trust in our mission we will successfully protect one of the
greatest agricultural valleys left in Puget Sound.
Thank you from all of us at SPF!
